Oshabeni development football league heats up
The league is moving smoothly and fair play is being practised.
The last two rounds of matches will determine the results of the championship in the Oshabeni Development League under 13 division.
The race to the finish is getting tougher each passing match, between log leaders FC Bavarians Academy and Future Hunters, which is hot on their heels, separated by only two points.
Weekend matches were played at Vusushaba Sportsfield in Oshabeni location, near Port Shepstone. The day started with Hunters trailing Bavarians by eight points.
Opening the day was Sgodi FC who suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat at the hands of Nongalo FC. The second match saw Hunters hunt Young FC, and the match ended 3-1 in favour of Hunters.
Sgodi FC played its second match against Lokshini United, and again, they lost, this time 2-1. Both Nongalo FC and Young Stars played their second match of the day, and this time around Nongalo lost 2-1.
The last game of the day saw Hunters defeat United 3-0. That win for Hunters, allowed them to move just two points behind Bavarians.
Oshabeni Development League’s member, France Mchunu, said for now the league is moving smoothly and fair play is being practised.
“The boys have upped their game immensely. The only minor challenge is the unavailability of some club managers, which I believe is a problem we can solve.”
