Knockout stage looms for 30 Over Cup

The semi-finalists of the Southern KZN 30 Over Cup have been decided for divisions one and three, but there are still games to be played in the second division before these can be finalised.

There was some cricket last Sunday, with Vikings beating Harding Cricket Club in a Division 1 match, and Wolfpack overpowering Gamalakhe Warriors in a Division 3 game.

In the Division 1 semi-finals, hot favourites Port Shepstone Country Club will play Kokstad Bombay and Legends will take on Vikings.

In Division 2, there were no games played last Sunday. The league games are not yet complete and all six teams still have a chance to qualify, so there’s lots to play for.

In Division 3, Wolfpack play Gamalakhe and Mustangs face Challengers.

Gamalakhe’s strong start to the season means they qualify for the first time, but they will need to find a way to stop Ayanda ‘Freight Train’ Jili if they hope to make the final.

Ayanda’s power hitting has been sensational this tournament and he was at it again on Sunday, with 72 off 27 balls.
