Fun and flair at Sponsor Cup
There was a fantastic atmosphere at the club on the day.
There was a spectacular field of 104 players for the Sponsor Cup golf day at Port Shepstone Country Club last Saturday.
The format was a full scramble, which is always fun. This was a special golf event dedicated to celebrating the club’s sponsors and fostering valuable connections. Ian King entertained the crowd after golf.
Winning team was Chas Everitt, comprising Kim Strauss, Cecelia Verster, Yzelle Greyling and Jennifer Duncan.
Runner-up was Port Shepstone Country Club pro shop, namely Jesse Verster Jnr, Mike Algie, Lee Maree and Wayne Beekman.
In third place was MakMoer, comprising Francois du Toit, Zanté du Toit, Vernon Albrecht and Marlize Albrecht. MakMoer was also the best dressed team.
Fourth spot went to Midas, represented by Sbu Ntozakhe, Morris Moodley, Wonderboy Nxumalo and Robert Mavundla.
Next up were Bendigo Electrical’s Allan Clark, Colin Nel, Derrek Ross and Kirk Larsen.
Non-sponsor winners were Brett Wheatcroft, Joe Bridges, Dick Cotterell and Natasha Cotterell.
Nearest the pins: Jesse Verster (5th), Colin Nel (8th), Brett Wheatcroft (14th) and Jarryd Charlton (17th).
Longest drives on 18 were struck by Colin Nel (men) and Kim Strauss (women).
The Wednesday competition was won by Piet Snyman and Ian Stewart on 39 points.They counted out Allan Rowley and Colin Nel, who in turn counted out Chris Boyce and Mark Smith.
The Hibiscus Coast Electrical Fowl Friday was won by Gavin van Wyk on 19 points, followed by Ken Morris and Colin Nel on 18 points.
Piet Snyman and Allan Rowley both had 17 points.
