Fresh recruits strengthen Margate detective service

The new recruits have much more to learn in their environment under the leadership of branch commander Colonel David Nala.

Six fresh faces have been added at Margate detective service to capacitate the current number of seasoned detectives who have the daunting task of tracing, investigating cases and making regular court appearances to ensure justice is obtained for victims of crime, and to remove offenders from society.

The new constables began working at Saps Margate on February 23, and their official training is complete.

Six newly appointed constables join seasoned detectives as they begin their journey in strengthening crime investigations in the area.

They certainly have much more to learn in their environment under the leadership of branch commander Colonel David Nala and his management team. Targeted training courses and skills development workshops in the near future will further equip the constables to be effective detectives.

Nala advised the junior members to develop a hunger for knowledge, to avail themselves of all training opportunities and to always be humble enough to ask for direction when unsure, and to accept correction gracefully.

He further pledged the support of all his members in grooming the new constables to be fine detectives.
