Umbango temple observes Kavady

Chitra Paruvam Kavady is a sacred Tamil festival dedicated to Lord Muruga.

The Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Temple invites all to its Chitra Paruvam Kavady which concludes on Sunday, May 3.

Chitra Paruvam Kavady is a sacred Tamil festival dedicated to Lord Muruga, observed on the full moon (Purnima) in the Tamil month of Chittirai (April/May).

The Kavady Obayam times are: on weekdays, hawan will start at 18:30 and on Saturdays at 15:00.

The prayer for Narasimba Jayanti on Thursday, April 30 will start at 18:00. Chitra Paruvam Kavady will be held at the temple parking grounds on Friday, May 1 at 08:00.
