Induna donates classroom to Mtwalume school

As part of the donation, a kitchen and borehole were also handed over, which will not only benefit the school, but the local community as well.

Sbongujeza Primary in KwaQoloqolo location in Mtwalume received a much-needed donation of a classroom, kitchen and borehole from the community-caring local Induna and businessman, Joseph Gumede of Inkosi Thandokuhle Zama Traditional Council.

Inkosi Gumede kindly donated the resources for both the school and the local community.

He urged the community to bring their children to the school and appealed to the Department of Education (DoE) to increase the school’s grades to Grade 5 for more learners to enrol. The school currently boasts 83 learners.

We appeal to other business people to give back to the community and support our schools with the necessary resources they need to offer quality education to our children.”

DoE’s Turton circuit manager Bheka Cele welcomed the support and thanked Inkosi Gumede for his kind donation to advance primary education for learners.

Principal Nomasonto Hlongwa is also grateful for the donation and said it will help her school and children, and the community at large.

Inkosi Zama said more education sponsors are needed and thanked Induna Gumede for his contribution to his community’s education. “We need more business people to support our schools for the development of our community and their children.” said Zama.
