The walk hopes to provide relief to vulnerable animals and pet owners on the coast.
TERENCE Olivier of Rainbow Warriors South Africa (RWSA) will be walking 142 kilometres in eight days to save lives of furry friends one step at a time.
Mr Olivier plans to walk from Hibberdene to Port Edward and back in order to raise funds for sterilisations and pet food which will provide relief for vulnerable animals and pet owners on the South Coast.
He will depart from Hibberdene on September 19, and connect with the RWSA team at checkpoints in Hibberdene, Port Shepstone, Margate, Southbroom, Port Edward, Ramsgate, Uvongo and Umtentweni. The team will meet Mr Olivier at each town daily where they will be taking pledges from community members and businesses, as well as taking applications for sterilisations and pet food assistance.
Mr Olivier will end his journey at The Rock Music Bistro in Umzumbe for Woofstock which will be a hippy-themed day of music and fun on September 26, also in support of RWSA’s sterilisation and pet food campaign.
You can contribute to this campaign by pledging R1 per km or R142 for the full distance, booking a table at Woofstock for R50 per person, donating prizes or vouchers towards the lucky ticket draw, donating pet food at checkpoints, sponsoring T-shirts or water, volunteering to distribute food at checkpoints or sponsoring accommodation at each stopover.
