Pool masters take aim at SA champs
This is a proud moment for the South Coast pool enthusiasts to bring honour to the South Coast.
AFTER several years a team of pool players from Port Shepstone will be representing the province in the South African Pool Billiard Championship.
The KwaZulu-Natal Pool Federation selected the Hibiscus Coast 8 Ball Association and 15 players stand a chance to bring huge honour to the South Coast region. The championships will be held in Worcester, Western Cape from this Saturday, September 26.
Rakesh Harripersadh (PRO) for Hibiscus Coast 8 Ball Association said a tournament of this magnitude is of the highest competitive level. “The team will be meeting the top players from around the country playing for the honour of their province and for a spot to represent South Africa in the world championship which will be held in Blackpool, England,” said Mr Harripersadh.
He thanked all sponsors for their support in cash or kind in funding the players and making their dream possible. The team consists of the following players, who will be guided by the experience of their chairman Keegan Reddy and will be under the leadership of Stefan Weber. The team comprises Dhevan Moodley (aka Mr Talented), Lionel Chetty (Hot Rock), Ugen Padayachee (Mr Perfectionist), Brandon Ponnan (Turbulance Tremor), Colin Naidoo (Silent Assassin), Shawn Chetty (Slow Torture), Terrance Chetty (Mr Pool Ambassador), Reevek Ramlall (Mind Mixer – Mr Cool), Yega Katharian (Mr Fireball) and Krushen Govender (Gravity Racer).
Taking part in the singles tournament are Yogan Govender, Morne Jones and Stefan Weber.
