Southern Natal Nomads downed by Port Edward golfers
The match was played in a festive spirit.
SOUTHERN Natal Nomads took on Port Edward Country Club in an ‘away game’ last Saturday. And lost (again) by a convincing margin to the hosts.
The Nomads put this down to ‘lack of local knowledge’ and some ‘creative reading’ of the rain-soaked score-cards!
It was a rather wet day, but played in good ‘spirits’, with locals eagerly taking part in the age old Nomads tradition of whisky and milk as a ‘relaxative’ before each game.
However, it was also an opportunity for Nomads to hand over a cheque for R7 500 to Port Edward in the interests of assisting smaller clubs to develop and maintain their facilities.
Junior vice captain Paul Tedder handed over the cheque to the Port Edward vice-captain Andrew Ralfe.
