Young golfer Wesley makes progress
The Margate CC member is enjoying the game very much.
WESLEY McNeil (12) is making superb progress with regards to his golf game.
During some Junior Foundation tournaments held on the coast, he showed that he has the passion and talent to become a pretty good player.
At Margate Country Club (his home course), he tied for first place in the C division, and then picked up a fourth place the following day at Port Shepstone Country Club.
He kept his best for last, carding 44 points to win at Southbroom Golf Club.
Wesley is currently playing off a 31 handicap, but no doubt that will come down quickly.
His adjusted gross scores for those three rounds were 103, 104 and 96 respectively.
The 96 appears to have been the first time he has broken 100 in a tournament. You can be pretty sure it won’t be the last.
Patrick Mavundla has been helping Wesley with his game, and has been pleased to see his improvement.
