THE Peg & Punter mixed trips played last Wednesday was won by Pam Cole-Cook, Ron Camps and Amorie Schoëler.
Runners-up were Rob Lyle, Pippa Rowney and Derek Wicks. Second session went to Peter Bennett, Gaye Gravell and George Pithie, and the 50/50 board to Mary Phelps.
First sponsored competition of 2016 is the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs on Sunday, January 3.
Banners Rest men’s KBA Saturday second league team is currently leading their section, with the last game to be played at Margate on January 16.
HIBBERDENE
THE nominated mixed trips last Friday was won by Jan and Helene Oosthuizen, with Joey Venter. Second place went to Jan Venter, Bernard Carpenter and Chris Snyman.

There won’t be any competitions for the next two Fridays, but the Cutting Edge/Blue Waters mixed trips will take place on December 30.

MARGATE BC
ELLEN Cawker and Yvonne Bausek won the Manaba Kwikspar women’s 2-4-2 last Friday.
Runners-up were Sharon Scheinberg and Leza Edwards.
Session went to Leoni Booth and Estelle Carter; Yvonne Bausek also won the 50/50 board.
The Christmas pantomime ‘Robinson Crusoe’ was a resounding success and thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended.

MUNSTER
WELL done to Helen Cock, Martiens Zietsman and Rick Harding on winning the club’s drawn mixed trips.
The High Rock Pub and Grill mixed trips was won by Piet Heunis, Cliff Moakes and Rina Fourie.
Runners-up were Tony and Val Smith, with Grant Walton. Second session to Louise Dry, Leone Bloem and Rory Lawson.
The club will be open for a fun day of bowls on the Day of Goodwill, normal tabs time, 1.30pm for 2pm. Bring a plate of Christmas leftovers to share after the game.
PORT EDWARD
THE Zanokhanyo Funeral Service’s mixed pairs was won by Hedley Meek and Val Smith. Runners-up were Glen Allen and Steffi Harris.
Session winners were Marianne van Buuren and Grant Walton.

PORT SHEPSTONE
THE annual Sheppie Roll, sponsored by Warwick Wealth, was won by Brian Rawlins and his team, with the runners-up led by Mark Bischoff.
Best dressed woman was Gill Thiele, who was a veritable Christmas tree. John Hové was best dressed man, who managed to find a new use for a ‘Kreepy Krauly’.
The most touches, with five, was shared by Julia Peacock, Bernie Sinclair and Kevin Lancaster.
There was virtually a full field for the monthly business day, sponsored by Retief, Van Zyl Inc.
Winners were Telepage, skipped by Geoff Hudson, with John and Martin Nadauld and Rastus Reen.
Runners-up were Protective Clothing skipped by Peter Clark, ably assisted by Sheena Dempster, Winnie Hess and Therese Barron.
The next business day challenge will be on Friday, January 22 next year.
SOUTHBROOM
WARM hearts, warm seas and cool food are the order of the day at the moment. Many bowlers have friends and family with them, so please remember bowls continues as always.
A New Year’s Eve party has been organised at the club. A ‘bring and braai’ will start at 8pm for 8.30pm. As well as your meat please bring a salad to share with everyone.
Depending on eager participants, candlelight bowls may take place. Great music from the ’50s and onwards will remind many of us of happy parties in previous years.
So come and dance the night away with friends and family.
SOUTHPORT
LYNN Bamber, Tina Barbour and Maureen Head returned the best score, defeating Kitty Cochman’s makeshift trio from the home club into the runners-up position in the Harbour View SuperSpar trips last Thursday.
The second session prize went to Maureen Vorster, Molly Williams and Jenny Floquet.
In the afternoon the team skipped by Jan Snyman supported by Peter Anderson and led by Cosmos Gumede ran away with the first prize in the Dr D’Arcy sponsored men’s trips.
Runners-up were Dennis Graham, Louis Marx and Peter Marsh while the second session winners were the popular visitors from Hibberdene, Bez Bezuidenhout, Danie Human and Bruce Hoyer.
Nellis Hattingh, Judy Hové and Mark Bishoff won the Geochem mixed triples played on Sunday afternoon, while Peter Clark, Pat Maggs and Peter Maggs took second place.
THE BELL
SANDY van Niekerk and Phil Viljoen won the Fruit & Veg mixed pairs competition, from runners-up Peet van Rooyen and Susan Fourie. Session prize went to Maureen Head and Kevin Mullen.
The men’s fours was won by Peet van Rooyen, Keith Harcombe, Brian Sapsford and Jimmy Holzhausen.
Wayne Muller is wished a speedy recovery from his recent surgery.
Tabs in are played every Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, and in the morning on Sundays and public holidays.

DUMISANI Madlala has been selected for the KBA B side to play in the interprovincials next year.
A fantastic and very social Christmas lunch and show were enjoyed by 60 plus people last Saturday. Congratulations to Tony Aveyard as well as Karen Delaney and her team.
The green will reopen on January 2.
