A BLAST from the past came to Umtentweni Tennis Club in the form of Mark Wesson who last graced our courts when the club held annual junior tournaments way back in the eighties!
It was really great to have him back at Tweni and members look forward to him joining the club soon. Besides Mark, Willem Erasmus, Paul Mundell and Heloise Cloete joined members which was wonderful as five courts got going again.
Elena Whateley brought along her favourite Chelsea buns, Swiss roll and scones and these were supplemented by Dan Dimitriu’s birthday treat – super-indulgent Black Forest cake.
Birthday wishes for the coming week go to Piet Burger for the 24th and Nick Wattrus for the 29th. Have a happy day and lots of smashing tennis throughout the year.
Anne Payn is doing well after her hip op and members wish her a speedy recovery. She is already able to get around with only one crutch so will soon be back on the courts!
Isabeau le Roux is battling to get rid of a nasty bug and members hope she will soon be 100 percent again. Please remember to pay your subs to Isabeau asap.
