THE Port Edward SuperSpar two-bowl mixed trips played last Wednesday was won by Rod and Mary Phelps with Peter Bennett.
Runners-up were John Keppler, Mac McKenzie and Leoni Booth. Second session went to Jimmy and Ann McAllister with Jaye Russell, and the 50/50 board to Anneke McKay.
Winners of the Indulgence Beauty Salon open pairs played last Friday were Dan Delaney and Myra Doubell.
Placed second were Pam Cole-Cook and Vi Pells, and third Glen Allen and Ron Camps. The 50/50 board went to Estelle Carter.
A bowls skills training clinic will be held at the club on Friday, January 29 at 1.30pm for 2pm.

THE next sponsored tournaments are the Manaba Kwikspar women’s 2-4-2 this Friday (22nd), the Uvongo Spar open pairs on Friday, January 29 and the Margate Panel Beaters men’s 2-4-2 on February 5.

NOMADS
THE new year started well for the Nomads, with a game at Margate BC. Some 30 bowlers took part, and Austen Knollys was presented with his 30 year badge!
Prizes were sponsored by Orange River Wine Cellars. First prize went to Barbara Iceton, Mike Prinsloo and Myra Doubell.
Runners-up were Gae Gravell, Rennie Geyer and Christine Faber. Third went to to Lenie Geyer, Alan Dinning and Maureen Roach.
Sportsman’s prize to Austen Knollys, Ann Waugh and Keith Roach, while nearest the jack was Terence van Rensburg.
The 50/50 draw was won Maree Rogers.
The next outing will be at Margate Country Club on Sunday, February 21 at 8.30am.
PORT EDWARD
THE Graneez/Bootleggers open trips was won by Barry Payn, Judith Simpson and Philippa Rowney.
Runners-up were George Snyman, Mary Warner and Sariena Ziervogel, and the session prize winners were Peter Ziervogel, Maureen La Grange and Ally Weir.

PORT SHEPSTONE
TWO league teams both played Margate Bowling Club this past Saturday, with both winning 5-0.
This means that the first side is still second in the premier league, while the second team actually won their section.
They now face Village, the winners of the other section, in a play-off at Riverside next Saturday, in a promotion to premier league game.
RIVERSIDE
THE drawn mixed pairs will be played this Sunday (24th) from 10am, followed by a prize-giving and bring and braai.

SOUTHPORT
THE South Coast Herald sponsored mixed 2-4-2 played last Thursday morning was won by Peet van Rooyen and Susan Fourie.
Runners-up were Eric Grierson and Isabel Prenger. The second session prize went to Barbara Sates and Alan Wallace.
The Dr D’Arcy men’s trips will be played this afternoon (21st ) and the Suzuki mixed trips this Sunday (24th).
Condolences to the Strydom and Mody families who have recently experienced bereavements.
THE BELL
WINNERS of the Jaxx open trips were Rassie Erasmus, Sandy van Niekerk and Phil Viljoen. In second place were Barry Delvin, Keiron Dacey and Steve O’ Moore.
Third place went to Peet van Rooyen, Susan Fourie and Pat Maggs.
Long time member John Lowe died on the weekend. Condolences are extended to Anne and the family.

TWENI
RAIN washed out the Harbour View SuperSpar mixed pairs due to have been played last Friday. The next competition will be the 3rd Avenue Restaurant mixed fours on January 25.
This Sunday, January 23, will see the battle of the sexes which can be quite brutal! Men to provide eats.
The popular quiz evening will take place on January 27 after bowls and will include bobotie and a pudding.

CONGRATULATIONS and good luck to our men’s Saturday League players who have won their section and go through to the play-offs on Saturday.
There will be no sponsored competitions until further notice.
The club is looking for someone to run the in-house club championships. Please contact Ken or Hazel as it needs to start asap.
The Midweek League starts in March and entries must be in by end of January.
