Wayne’s World: Don’t exercise if you are ill
The hot weather made the run more challenging.
THIS past Sunday saw the running of the club’s 21km club championship which took place from Uvongo to Impenjati and was a huge success with 50 members taking part.
Thanks to Lucky Rambally for organising in my absence and the results will be published in next week’s paper.
We held the annual general meeting at the club last Wednesday and would like to introduce the new committee, but before I do I would just like to thank my 2015 committee for all their hard work and dedication over the past year – your support to myself and the club members has been invaluable.

The committee is as follows: chairman – Wayne Wridgway; club manager – Freek Stander; assistant club manager – Beenie Rambally; secretary – David Morrison-Young; treasurer – Michelle Wridgway; administration – Michelle Wridgway, Neville Storbeck and Kim Jones; development managers – Michael Mzobe and Goodman Nqayi; running captain – Lucky Rambally; co-captain running – Neville Storbeck; walking captain – Ronel Viljoen; co-walking captain – Moira King; junior running manager – Emmanuel Mufamadi; race convener and media manager – Kim Jones.
Time trials start at 5.30pm for runners and 5.15pm for walkers every Wednesday from the clubhouse in Edward Avenue. All are welcome to join.
This Friday we will be holding our first fun run for 2016. R20 entry fee. Starts (and finishes) at the clubhouse at 5.30pm. For any queries contact Michelle at 073 3727947. Open to the public.
The PDAC 25km run/walk takes place from Waterfall to Pinetown this Sunday, January 31 at 5am. Entries available on the day.
This week’s tip: “Don’t exercise if you are ill as it puts strain on your heart and doesn’t do your body any favours. Relax, recover and then return to running.”
Stay safe.
