Leon and Co roll to a secure win at Sheppie

THE business day at Port Shepstone Country Club last Friday, sponsored by Roll A Fold/Trellidor, was won by Leon Reeders, Kevin Loring, Carl Grobler and Gloria Lundie on 93 points.
In second place on 92 points were Santhos Baskali, Naveshan Moodley, Ronnie Naidoo and Ricky Naidoo.
Third spot went to Pete Surtees, Smittie Stieger, Jesse Verster and ‘ghost’ Paul Bunge on 91 points.
Last Wednesday’s comp was won by Leon Bunge and Graham Fabricius on 50 points, two clear of Kevin Loring and Luant Changuion.
The women’s St Valentine’s Day fund-raiser last Saturday was won by Ricky Naidoo and Ronnie Naidoo on 49 points.
Runners-up on 48 points were Peter Thompson and Ernst Meier, followed by Johann van Niekerk and Daan Swanepoel on 47 points.
Wonderful week for Margate women
EVELYN Burls, Margaret Ford and Hilary Hendry won the women’s comp at Margate Country Club last Tuesady on 89 points.
The Wobblers’ alliance the next day saw Dieter Jucker, Richard Plaskitt and David James score 88 points, in the process counting out Rolf Spielmann, Nico van Vuuren and Rob McGill.
In third place were Hans Beilhartz, Brian Jeffreys and Mike Williams on 85 points.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to R Konrad, Bruno Epple and Dave Parsons on 76 points.
Nearest the pin on the 16th was Otto Mutschler.
Thursday’s comp saw JP Pretorius take first place on 42 points, by two from Riaan Croucamp. Third went to Louis Carriera on 38 points.
Nearest the pins were Angus McLachlan (7th), Hans van der Walt (16th).
The St Valentine’s Day comp last Saturday was almost a clean sweep for the women.
Winners were Lizzie Meyer and Margaret Taylor on 74 points, on a count-out from Maureen Ogilvie and Wondra Bothma.
In third place were Alan Walton and Hans Beilhartz on 73 points. Nearest the pins were Barry Oehme (4th) and Ralph Burls (16th).
Best dressed were Derek Egerton and Evelyn Burls.
