Get those rods ready for Paddock Fishing Comp

Great prizes are on offer.

THE Paddock Fishing Competition committee is gearing up to host another successful event this year, from March 4 to 6.

Last year saw more than 400 anglers take part. The 38 local Oribi and Paddock dams were all full and anglers yielded a record of roughly 486kg fish altogether.

With around 150 people camping at the Paddock club, a festive atmosphere was created and young and old enjoyed the meals prepared by the catering committee.

Sponsors have been generous and the hope is to collect some R150 000 worth of prizes.

Registration on Friday, March 4 starts at 3.30pm, with the briefing at 7pm.

Tickets cost R80 each which includes an entry into the lucky draw.

Armbands will be sold at the entrance for club entry and fishing at the dams – these cost R20 per adult and R10 for under-18s.

Camping fees are R250 per site for the weekend. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the club grounds.
