TEAM Margate put in an awesome performance at KZN Level 0 and Level 1 Provisional Championships at Kings Park pool ahead of the Regional Championships taking place at the end of March.
Highlights included a fantastic swim by Ruan Michau (15) in his 50m freestyle event, taking gold in a personal best time of 27.47.
He continued his medal haul with gold in the 50m backstroke, silver in the 50m breaststroke and 100m freestyle, and bronze in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events.
April Niemack (13) took gold in the 400m freestyle, 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, and silver in the 200m freestyle and 50m butterfly events.
The junior swimmers showed great confidence with Hannah Scott (12) continuing her great form this season, smashing her times in all her events and claiming podium finishes in the 100m freestyle (bronze) and 50m backstroke (bronze).
Kai Hielckert (11) scooped two gold medals in the 100m breaststroke where he achieved a Level 2 qualifying time, and the 200m breaststroke, adding a silver in the 50m backstroke event.
Ruby van der Merwe (12) clinched the bronze medal in her favourite event, the 50m butterfly, while Khrysten le Roux (9) rounded off the medals with bronze in the 100m and 50m backstroke.
Danica Pretorius (11) dropped 10.93 seconds in the 100m breaststroke, making huge progress towards the Level 1 qualifying time and making an impressive 21.60 second improvement overall.
