Mixed fours won by The Bell’s Johannie and team
THE winners of the midsummer mixed fours were The Bell’s Johannie Theron, Luke Pohl, Maureen Head and Kevin Mullen on 20 points and 45 ends won giving them total points of 65.
Second were Shane Nienaber, Dieter Scholz, Barbara Brook and David James on 16 points and 48 ends won, giving them a total of 64 points.
In third place were Keith Harcombe, Louw Vermeulen, Charmaine van Deventer and Michelle Vermeulen on 20 points, 44 ends won and a total of 64 points.
The executive would like to thank everyone for their participation over the weekend and the host clubs Riverside and Margate for their hospitality.
A BSA circular received recently has clarified the claiming process for a full house for insurance purposes.
• If you score eight shots in a fours game where the four players in the team play with two bowls each
• If you score eight shots in a pairs game where the two players in the team play with four bowls each
• If you score nine shots in a trips game where the three players in the team play with three bowls each
Bowlers qualify for an eight or nine badge only in respect of these three examples.

The section play-offs will be held at The Bell on Saturday and the finals at AMBC on Monday.
BANNERS REST
WITH the Indulgence Beauty Salon open pairs having been moved from March 11 to March 22, the next sponsored competition is the Wild Coast Golden Moon Spur mixed pairs to be played on Friday, April 1.
Members should check the notice board for dates and draws for this year’s round of club competitions. Birthday wishes go to Ray Elders on March 17.
HIBBERDENE
TABIE Jonker, Roger Burwood and Frances Raymond won the Hibberdene Pharmacy nominated mixed trips last Friday.
Runners-up were Mike King, Fanie Strydom and Annette Strydom. Session to John Mett, Roy Garrett and Joey Venter.
Contrary to results published two weeks ago, it was John and Judy Hoyer (not Hové) who were the winners. Re/Max mixed trips this Friday afternoon.
MARGATE BC
YVONNE Bausek won the twilight league last week, followed by Barry Mollet and Barbara Iceton.
Good bowling to those playing in the KBA mixed pairs this weekend.
Please donate towards the jumble sale, date to be advised, to raise funds for the teams going to the nationals in May.

NOMADS
NEXT Nomad’s outing will be this Sunday, March 20 at Southbroom (and not as advertised in the diary) at 8.30am for 9am.
There will be a bring and braai after the competition, even if it rains. All bowlers are welcome to join in with the Nomads.
PORT EDWARD
THE Migamed Pharmacy mixed trips winners were Gino Alilovic, John Keppler and Estelle Carter.
Runners-up were Dan Delaney, Hazel Delaney and Arthur Ronaldson, and the session winners were Mike Gower, Myra Doubell and Grant Walton. The board was won by Rod Phelps.
Warwick ‘development day’ this Saturday, March 19 at 1.30pm. Bring a friend to introduce to bowls, dress ‘mufti’ with flat shoes or bare feet. Only R20 including a boerewors roll.
PORT SHEPSTONE
JENNY Rawlins led the women to a good home win over Tweni last week, 29-19. The men, led by Dave Price, lost to the Village 31-11 at Margate.
The men’s side led by Eddie Fann had a bye and only start their campaign next week. Next weekend sees the playing of the KBA mixed pairs.
RIVERSIDE
ERROR in diary March 26, not Spar open trips, mixed 2-4-2. The mixed 2-4-2 has been postponed to April 1.
Coaching on Mondays and Wednesdays. Call the club on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon to make an appointment. Tabs in on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1.40pm for 2pm.
Prospective bowlers welcome on Saturdays, flat soled shoes.
SOUTHBROOM
REMEMBER the bowls and braai with the Nomads this Sunday, March 20 at 8.30am for 9am. Bring your meat and a salad and join in the fun.

SOUTHPORT
THE South Coast Herald mixed trips was won by Una and Jan van Eeden, runners-up were Ann Barkway and Richard Cochman.
Session prize went to Bob Moroney and Val Bedecker.
At the midsummer mixed fours, Jane Massam, Rynier van Tonder, Don Russouw and Sandy Shepherd gave a good account of themselves, finishing 23rd out of 42 teams.
THE BELL
WINNERS of the Captain’s Anchor mixed fours were Peet van Rooyen, Louw Vermeulen, Susan Fourie and Charmaine van Deventer.
Second prize went to Alan Mandy, Cyndy McMurtry, Adele Reader and Angela Moorhouse. Session was won by Keith Harcombe, Claude Ching, Michelle Vermeulen and Gayle Newby.
Congratulations to Johannie Theron and her team on winning the KBA midsummer fours.
Tabs in are played every Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. Visitors welcome.
TWENI
THE Schooners Restaurant mixed trips played last Monday were won by Jan Huygen, Astrid Jackson and Trudy Rush. Runners-up were Tony Aveyard, Louis Marx and Kathy Simpson.
Session winners were Peter Marsh, Tony Korb and Karen Delaney.
The next competition will be the Wimpy women’s pairs on Thursday, March 24 at 9am.
VILLAGE
AS it was a little cooler it was lovely to see a full green of social bowlers on Saturday. Hopefully it won’t be long before better access is had.
