Bowlers prepare for Inter Districts tournament
WELL done to Port Shepstone’s Eddie Fann and Gillian Thiel on winning the mixed pairs title at AMBC recently. Runners-up were Liesje de Rosner and Bob Elliot from AMBC.
In third spot were The Bell’s Keith Harcombe and Michelle van Deventer. Fourth place went to Mardi Dovale and Michael Harvey, also from AMBC.
Eddie and Gillian will be representing KBA in the SA Mixed Pairs to be held in the Northern Cape in June.
Thank you to all the clubs who hosted the tournament during the round robins and play-offs and to AMBC for hosting the finals.
The executive wishes the KBA inter district players good luck and good bowling next week.
The ‘B’ sides will be playing in Port Elizabeth and the open and seniors will be in Johannesburg.
There has been a change of venue and rink allocations for the inter districts men’s and women’s ‘B’ sides in Port Elizabeth.

THE Indulgence Beauty Salon open pairs was cancelled due to inclement weather.

NEXT sponsored competition is the Margate Panelbeaters men’s 2-4-2 to be played this Friday (1st).
‘Bowlers 4 Babies’ will be meeting at the club on Thursday, April 7 at 10am.
Please bring along a friend for tea and cake and any completed items.
This group of women, led by Wendy Walker, is doing amazing work ensuring that babies born at Murchison Hospital go home with blankets, jerseys, nappies etc.

MUNSTER
MIXED trips, sponsored by High Rock Pub and Grill was held on Wednesday this week, having changed from its Thursday date.
The Krafty Chameleon sponsored fun day is this Friday (1st) at 2.30pm for 3pm. Dress code is casual, multi-coloured, followed by a bring and share braai. All welcome.
Normal starting time at 1.30pm for 2pm from April 5.
Mixed pairs, sponsored by Indulgence, on Wednesday, April 6. Tea duty – Penny Hood and Barry Fowler.
Men’s pairs, sponsored by Charlie’s Pizzas, will be held on Friday, April 8. Tea duty – Martiens Zietsman and Lindsey Humphries.
Tabs in held every Tuesday, Thursday (casual wear) and Saturday (club colours). Visitors are always welcome.
PORT EDWARD
BEAVER Creek Coffee Farm mixed pairs winners were Barry Payn and Phillipa Rowney, from runners-up Joe Ashworth and Leoni Booth.
Session prize winners were Sergio Ruperto and Val Smith. Board to Estelle Carter.
Payn Memorial winners were Barry Payn, Leoni Booth, Jens Anderson and Sera Koekemoer.
Runners-up were Gino Alilovic, Estelle Carter, Greg Fifield and Lyn Walton. Session winners were Hedley Meek, Dan Delaney and Phillipa Rowney.

THE Wolf Security open trips was won convincingly by Steve Rennie, Aubrey Hood and Jenny Rennie. Runners-up were Paul Botes, Kobus Faber and Eugene Yazbek.
First session to Alfred Shusha, Nico Mantoan and Lorraine Wijtman. Second session to Patrick Kirkbright, Trebla Lansdell and Monika Zunker.
50/50 to Trebla Lansdell. Remember, there will be no tabs in on Saturday, April 16.
SOUTHPORT
PEET van Rooyen, Nick van Niekerk and Kevin Mullins won the men’s trips last week, which was sponsored by Dr D’Arcy.
Runners-up were Bez Bezuidenhout, Roger Burwood and Martin Rautenbach. Second session to Mike King, Bob Moroney and Nellis Hattingh.
The mixed pairs, sponsored by Southport Service Station, was postponed to this Sunday (2nd).
Southport BC was recently represented by three pairs in the KBA mixed pairs.
Jane Massam and Don Rossouw won their section, but unfortunately were knocked out in the next stage.
Both pairs of Rynier van Tonder and Sandy Shepherd, as well as Richard and Kitty Cochman, were runners-up in their sections.
THE BELL

Congratulations to Keith Harcombe and Michelle Vermeulen on coming third in the Kingfisher mixed pairs competition played last weekend.
The next club sponsored competition will be the Captain’s Anchor mixed fours to be played on Friday (1st).

TWENI
A CORRECTION of last week’s report … Dennis Graham and Annette Suther did reach the knockout stage of the KBA mixed pairs, well done.
Winners of the Wimpy women’s pairs were Marie Pick and Maureen Voster.
Runners-up were Susan Fourie and Jean Celliers. Second session went to Sheenagh Dempster and Winnie Hess.
The next competition will be the South Coast Herald men’s pairs on Tuesday, April 5 in the morning.
The open day on Sunday, April 10 is at 9.30am. Non-bowlers are welcome.
