THE GP Security mixed pairs played on Friday, April 1 was won by Rod and Mary Phelps, with runners-up Peter Bennett and Amorie Schoëler. Second session went to Rob Lyle and Pippa Rowney, and the 50/50 board to Val Smith.
Winners of the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs played on Sunday, April 3 were Brian Cole-Cook and Kotie Snyman. Placed second were Aubrey Hood and Ron Camps, followed by Ray Martin and Rob Lyle. The 50/50 board went to Ray Martin.
Please note that the SuperSpar Port Edward two-bowl mixed trips has been now rescheduled for Wednesday, May 11.
THE BELL
CEDRIC Grunder, Astrid Jackson, Joan Sackett and Denis Schmidt won the Captain’s Anchor sponsored mixed fours. Runners-up were Alan Mandy, Peter Browning, Adele Reader and Angela Moorhouse and the session prize went to Lynne Bamber, Rita Dommett, Brian Porteous and Tony Olivant.
Good bowling is wished for all district players this week.
The entry list for the BMW mixed trips to be played on April 23 is on the board.
Tabs in are played every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon and on Sunday mornings. There will be a braai after bowls on Sunday, April 10. Visitors welcome.
HIBBERDENE
MAUREEN and Tabie Jonker with Jan Venter won the nominated mixed trips sponsored by Tiago’s Open Flame last Friday. Runners-up were Arthur and Mirian Seager with Louise Shone and the session prize went to Bruce Hoyer with Callie and Estelle Quinn.
The next competition, a nominated trips, sponsored by Hibberdene Pharmacy will be played this Friday, April 8.
MARGATE BC
BOB Smith and Gerry Davey on 4+24 won the Margate Panelbeaters men’s 2-4-2 followed by Graham Dunlop and Brian Smallberger on 4+16. First session went to Athol Robertson and Ross Ferguson on 2+20 and the second session was won by Dieter Scholz and Alan Dinning on 2+12.
Members are advised to check the notice board for details of the next sponsored competition or to contact the competition secretaries.
There are only a few places left for the Margate Week Tournament so get your entries in before the closing date this Friday, April 8.

MUNSTER
JOHN Keppler, Rob Lyle and Philippa Rowney won the High Rock mixed trips played on March 30. Steve Renie, Penny Hood and Jeanette Offer were runners-up and the second session was won by Hedley Meek with Sergio and Pat Ruperto.
The Krafty Chameleon Coffee Shop sponsored fun day on April 1 was well attended and, although rain did stop play for a short time, it didn’t dampen spirits. The event was won Martiens Zietsman, Margaret Moakes and Linsey Humphries. Tommie Dry, Rick Harding and Lesley Lawson were second followed by Louise Dry, Joan Lindley and Eileen van der Lith.
Mariner’s Restaurant open trips on Tuesday, April 12. Tea duty – Joan Fowler and Pat Ruperto. Check the notice board for details of the Warwick sponsored day and the men’s and women’s handicap event.

PORT EDWARD
THE Indulgence Beauty Salon two-bowl trips was won by Barry Payn, Trevor Smith and Phillipa Rowney, Runners-up were Gawie Bosman, Leoni Booth and Mike Carte and the session prize went to Rob Lyle, Grant Walton and Pat Brand. The board was won by Dice Graaff.

PORT SHEPSTONE
THE midweek league played on Thursday saw two successes and one very narrow defeat. The women’s team, skipped by Jenny Rawlins had a good win as did the men led by Eddie Fann. The side led by David Price narrowly lost, losing only on the very last end. There is a break next week.
On Sunday the monthly Harbour View SuperSpar trips was won by Phil Myburgh with Murray and Julie Ross on +32. Runners-up were Leon Sander, Ethne Holding and Barry Krause on +28 and the session prize went to Brett Kjonstad, John Nadauld and Geoff Hudson.
We thank the players for their continued support as well as the organisers, Murray Ross and Brian Rawlins and green keeper Eddie Fann and his assistant Richard Reen.
The KBA district side is wished every success in the interdistrict tournament taking place in Edenvale this weekend.
RIVERSIDE
JOY Glathaar and Arnold Ossendryver won the Food Lover’s Market mixed 2-4-2 Runners-up were Sharon Smith and Barry Herbert and the sessions were won by Malcolm Taylor and Dennis Reebok and Marie Rodgers and Jannie van der Nest.
Tabs in Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 1.40pm for 2pm. Coaching available on Wednesdays and Saturdays – phone the club at 039 3151144 on Tuesday afternoons for an appointment.
The next sponsored competition will be Hopdens Spar open trips on Thursday 14th.
SOUTHBROOM
THE Fazenda Restaurant competition last Friday was well supported. Chris Faber and Dianne Dorn won the pairs event from runners-up Viv Date and Danny Terblanche, who received Ya Ya’s Coffee Shop vouchers. Trips winners Hein Bester, Mike Lyall, Mariette du Preez won Southbroom Car Wash vouchers. Graham Fisher, Sean Larkins, Trebla Lansdell were runners-up and won vouchers from Ya Ya’s Coffee Shop.
We hope Heather Roberts is playing well in Ekuruleni representing the KBA district team in the seniors team. Good luck to all those playing in this prestigious event.
Bring and braai takes place on Sunday 24th at 9am.
Members are advised that, due to the KBA singles championship at Southbroom, there will be no tabs in on Saturday 16th.
SOUTHPORT
MEMBERS wished Cosmos Gumede well as he left to represent the KBA at the Inter-District Championships in Port Elizabeth.
The in-house mixed Trips sponsored by Harbour View SuperSpar played on Sunday 3rd was won by Brian Marriott, Molly Williams and Bob Maroney. Runners-up were Geoff Kelleher, Jane Massam and Rentie Stevens while third place went to Fanie and Annette Strydom and Werner Mody.
The mixed 2-4-2 sponsored by South Coast Herald will be held next Thursday, 14th.
TWENI
THE 3rd Avenue Restaurant mixed fours played on March 29th was won by Barbara Fernhough, Susan Fourie with George and Marie Pick. Runners-up were Tony and Cynthia Korb,Trudy Rush and Karen Delayney. Session winners were Jan Huygen, Astrid Jackson, Peter Marsh and Nellie Davies.
The next competitions will be Harbour View SuperSpar mixed pairs on Friday, April 8 and Schooners Restaurant mixed trips on Monday 11th.

THE clubhouse should soon be opening and we are planning to start with our sponsored competitions – Martin Electronics men’s 2-4-2 (Thursday, April 21); Hopdens Kwikspar mixed 2-4-2 (Tuesday, April 26); Hibiscus Retirement Villages men’ trips (Tuesday, May 10) and Hibiscus Brokers’ mixed trips on Thursday, May 19.
