THE all-new Suzuki Baleno is Suzuki Auto SA’s new entrant into the competitive AB-segment.

It boasts the size, design and driving dynamics of an AB-segment hatchback, but with the added space, practicality and sophistication of a larger B-segment hatchback.

Suzuki is confident that this model will attract new buyers with its competitive specifications, including superb fuel efficiency, class leading interior and luggage space, new liquid flow design and all-inclusive standard features list.

The new design concept is inspired by the flowing curves of a body that is refined and graceful, yet dynamic.

There’s a new generation platform and technology, including a touchscreen infotainment system and instrument cluster (GLX spec).

It’s the lightest hatchback in its class, with a kerb weight of 915kg.

It’s a class leader in interior and luggage space, with 355 litres luggage capacity.

The Baleno has superb performance, drivability and economy, with its renowned K14B engine with low NVH.

Fuel efficiency is 5.1 litres per 100km (manual) and 5.4l per 100km (automatic).

The model line-up includes 1.4 GL 5MT, 1.4 GLX 5MT and 1.4 GLX 4AT.

The 1.4 litre K14B engine kicks out 68kW at 6000 r/min and reaches peak torque of 130Nm at 4200 r/min.

GL standard features include colour-coded mirrors and door handles, aircon, power steering, ABS, EBD, BAS and dual airbags.

Then there’re electric windows and electric mirrors, plus MP3/USB/CD player with Bluetooth.

And you can throw in steering mounted audio controls, remote central locking, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and front and rear 12V power sockets.

GLX’s additional features include DVD multimedia AV receiver with 6.2” touchscreen display, chrome door handles, beltline mouldings and tailgate garnish.

Plus a whole lot more, like 16” alloy wheels, six air bags, cruise control, automatic climate control and rear park distance control.

And you can also include keyless entry with push start, all-new instrument cluster, HID ‘Xenon’ projector headlights, front fog lamps and front centre armrest.

The Baleno comes with a three year/100 000km warranty and a four year/60 000km service plan.
