Soccer cup to honour TB Molefe
Eight teams from Gamalakhe and surrounding areas are set to do battle.
THE Gamalakhe Community Development Foundation (GCDF) in partnership with Luckys Sport and Fishing, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality and Architronic officially launched the TB Molefe Festival KO Cup last Sunday.
The cup has drawn soccer teams from five Wards of KwaMavundla Traditional Area with a tacit support of the teams from the surrounding areas such as Murchison, Bhobhoyi, Harding, Masinenge and Gcilima.
The aim of the event is to introduce an annual festive soccer tournament to honour and commemorate the life of the late TB Molefe. This tournament is set to promote social cohesion and eliminate urban and rural divisions and also to facilitate the promotion of local youth economic development. The tournament is scheduled to take place at Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre this Saturday, December 24 at 9am. Entrance is free.
