HEATHER Anderson won the women’s individual medal competition at Southbroom last Wednesday on 75 nett. Mari Fielden was runner-up on 79. In the bronze division, Di Morris carded 76 nett to win, counting out Sandy Luus and followed by Jean Corfe in third place on 77.
The men played a dual individual medal/Stableford competition. Connor James, talented son of the club’s pro, claimed first spot after carding 67 nett, one shot better than his father, Derek.
Joe Carolan played steady golf to win the Stableford competition with 40 points. Jim Cook and Nic Sistermanns shared second spot with 38 points a piece.
Saturday’s alliance was won by Allyson Thomas, Sandy Luus, Jeanette Peyios and Eileen Neilson on 93 points. Augi D’ewes, Hannah Hierhold, Shirley Jeffery and Rene Matthew were second on 92 points followed by Michelle Davies, Heather Anderson, Lorraine Cook and Shelley Myers on 89 points.
In the men’s competition, first place went to Russel Johnson, Doug Butcher, Brian Richards and Mike Slade on 97 points, counting out Colin Mckay, Malcolm Greenland, Gary Purtell and Grant Langley. In third place, and two shots off the pace were Paul Cole, David Neilson, Phil Verwey and Terry Sheppard.
