
ARROL Paterson, a visitor from Kloof Country Club, took home first prize in Week 17 of the Carreira-Curlewis Cup at Margate Country Club last Thursday.
He carded a superb 43 points to win by four from Sandi Johnston and Johan Stoltz.

Nearest the pins were Sandi Johnston (4th, sponsored by Margate Pro Shop) and Chris Nel (16th, sponsored by Hibiscus Retirement Villages).
Saturday’s monthly mug winners were Vusi Maphumulo (A division nett 64), Johann Erasmus (B division nett 66) and Flip Fourie (C division 40 points).
Respective runners-up were Ronnie Mtshaka (nett 71), Sbu Ntozakhe (nett 67) and Dolf Willemse (34 points).
Nearest the pin, sponsored by Margate Pro Shop, was Gary Smith.
In the women’s comp, the winners were Anita Scheepers and Wilna Olkers on 47 points.
Runners-up were Joan Minnaar and Rene Paton on 40 points, on a countout from Sandi Johnston and Shannon Gottlieb. Grace Fourie won the women’s individual Stableford last Tuesday on 36 points, by two from Alecia Hilt.
In Wobblers golf, the winners were Brian Jeffreys, Konnie Konrad and Bob Weanie on 83 points, by two from Louis Gouws, Derek Egerton and Hans Dallinger.
In third place was Dolf Willemse plus two ghosts, on 76 points. Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Dave Morrison, Gert Bezuidenhout and James Tutt on 67 points.
