Eagles (and birdies) soar at Umdoni Park Golf Club

Individual winners were Pat Sheehan on 45 points for the men and Maggie Eley on 38 points for the women.

THE Village Eagles Golf Society held a very successful golf day on Tuesday, June 6, on the attractive Umdoni golf course. We had a record field of 64 players, who enjoyed themselves in the pleasant South Coast autumn weather conditions!

Winners on the day, with a run-away score of 104 were Beano du Preez, Jenny Gove, Brian Hendry and Stan Punnet, who all won Umdoni golf vouchers for another round of golf at Umdoni, with carts also provided.

Runners-up, on 93 points, were Gus Crous, Bobby Mathias, Annette du Preez and George Russell, winning Atlanta Spur vouchers.

In third place was the team of Erhard Neuman, Brian Lundie, Dave Gibson and Tony Butler, who won Pennington Conservancy vouchers.

Nearest to the pin winners were Brian Kidd on the third hole and Dave Craig on the 16th. ‘Stone Last’ trophy winners this month were Mike Eley, Pete Wright, Carl Parsons and Ivan Bennewith.
