THE crowds started to descend onto the side lines for what was expected to be the 2017 league decider, the spectators came with the expectation of a great win, the players and coach, on the other hand, were feeling somewhat nervous after their previous encounter with Toti but, after having had two strong training sessions, also felt a sense of confidence.

Markus ‘The Tooth Fairy’ Botes, who had been missing for a spell, as his wand needed recharging, set the game alight and magically lifted the spirit of the crowd and the players as he crossed the whitewash and converted. This inspired Ross ‘Twinkle Toes’ Bartlett to dance through the opposition, untouched, scoring and lining up another perfect conversion for the Tooth Fairy.

Not to be outdone, the Tooth Fairy waved his wand twice more, scoring and going on to send the ball through the uprights.

After some huge interplay between Conrad ‘The Machine’ Kleinhans and Jason ‘Panda’ Mackenzie, the hard working, Kevin Barnard crossed the line with the Tooth Fairy converting. Toti was awarded a penalty but missed, bringing the score to 35-0 at half time.

Amongst all the fairy dust and glitter, Lucas ‘Goldilocks’ Burger exploded with a new look hairstyle, cutting through the opposition, leaving them transfixed by his display of power and speed.

Twinkle Toes threw down the gauntlet and tested Toti for pace, running round their whole backline and scoring for the last time. The Tooth Fairy did not miss a conversion.

Toti scored towards the end of the game but it was not converted. The final score was 49-5.

There isn’t a player that should go unmentioned, as each player impacted the game in his own dynamic way, setting a magnificent platform for the backline to operate.

Huge efforts were made by Jason ‘Panda’ Mackenzie and Malee ‘The Bomber”’ Bhengu and the big man Les Prinsloo. Welcome back to the ‘Little General’ Sean Jamieson, who has been out nursing an injury.

It takes a whole team to win a game, and this derby match was the perfect display of the teamwork that make a group of individuals a club. Well done to each and every player on the field and on the side line.

The forward man of the match went to Les Prinsloo and the backline man of the match went to Sean Jamieson. The Atlanta Spur Man of the Match was awarded to Les Prinsloo for his hard work and efforts.

Thank you to Gerald Holland, the team manager who initiated a fund-raiser by hand-making a wooden wheelbarrow out of pallets and collecting the contents. The Raggies raised R2 180 towards their year-end tour to Kapaailand. The raffle was won by Les Prinsloo Snr.
