Shad back on the bite again on South Coast
A wide variety of fish have been caught.
THE Block at Port Shepstone has been very productive the past week as quite a few decent edible fish have been caught, especially on live bait.
Live karanteen and mullet have been the baits of choice in the evenings and early mornings to catch the kob, garrick and kingies that have been coming out.

Banana Beach and The Block have seen some decent shad this past weekend.
Garrick have also made an appearance with two being lost last weekend and one weighing 6.63kg caught by Myurin Moodley.
Perch and smaller grunter have been caught in the Mzimkhulu River.
Garrick are on the run on Sandspit and a few cob have been caught as well. A lot of shad have been caught at Orange Rocks, St Mike’s and at Margate pier.
A few nice-sized kob were caught at Orange Rocks and Margate pier. Garrick are also being caught at those spots.
Some nice rock cod and barbel were caught at Shelly Beach.
