WINNERS of the Kingfisher Bowling Association’s women’s pairs tournament played at The Bell were Margate Bowling Club’s Pam Cole-Cook and Vi Pells, with Margate Country Club’s Kobie Stander and Dora Vosloo close runners-up.
In joint third were Daphne Sapsford and Mada Lindique from The Bell and Marianne van Buuren and Leoni Booth from Port Edward.

Men’s pairs was won by AMBC’s John Chamier and Mike Mordaunt. Runners-up were Riverside’s Shane Nienaber and Ross Ferguson.
Joint third were Peter Bennett and Allie Weir from Banners and Arthur Seager and John Hoyer from Hibberdene.
The Pro-10 tournament will be played this weekend with the section play-offs, semis and finals being played at Margate BC on Sunday.

THE 19th Hole mixed trips played was won by Brian and Pam Cole-Cook with Amy Körner.
Placed second were Leigh Warner, Vi Pells and Ally Weir and third Peter Bennett and Gae Gravell. The 50/50 board went to Joe Ashworth.
Next sponsored competition is the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs this Sunday (2nd).

HIBBERDENE
HIBISCUS Week saw 36 teams take part at five clubs between Hibberdene and Port Shepstone.
Winners were John Mitchley and team (AMBC), with Ellen Cawker and team (Margate BC) in second place.
Third went to Brian Rawlins and team (Port Shepstone). Fourth place was taken by Stoffel van Graan and team (Bethlehem).
Louw Vermeulen and team (The Bell) were fifth.
Plate was won by Wally Ducan and team (Lekker Breek). Second were Geoff Kelleher and team (Tweni).
Third were Wayne van Nikkelen-Kuyper and team (Hibberdene). Thanks to all the sponsors and background folk.
Bourman Group mixed trips was won by Malky McManus, Callie Quinn and Lionel France.

SCROUNGERS Cup was won Roger Humphrey, with Aubrey Hood giving him a run for his money in an exciting final.
Ray Martin won Plate A and Derek Wicks was the runner up. Plate B was won by Don Saunders, and Dice Graaf took second place.
The Coastals Co-op mixed trips was won by Piet Heunis, Val Smith and Rina Fourie. Leoni Booth, Maureen van der Poel and Tommy Doubell finished as runners-up.
Second session was won by Sergio and Pat Ruperto, playing with Phil Longden.
Gawie Bosman and Lizette Greef won the Saverite mixed pairs. Runners-up were Peter and Sariena Ziervogel and the session prize was won by Jokkie and Marianne van Buuren.
PORT SHEPSTONE
WELL done to Gill Thiele and Eddie Fann who represented KBA at the inter-districts and came third in their section.
Club singles winners are Julie Ross, who beat Gill Thiele, and Eddie Fann who beat Murray Ross.
Pairs winners were Irena Eigenmann and Caroline Harris and the runners-up Pat Maggs and Winnie Hess.
Men’s winners were Roy Anderson and Murray Ross, from Mark Smith and Keith Mills.
Business Challenge, sponsored by Curnow Insurance, was won by Jenny Rawlins, Ron Weddell and Elena Frizelle. Runners-up were Mary Jacobson, Nikki Coetzer and Mark Nicholas.
In a fun change, the playing order was was reversed, with skips playing as leads and leads as skips.
SOUTHPORT
DAPHNE Sapsford, Mada Lindeque and Angela Moorhouse won the Harbour View SuperSpar women’s trips.
Jane Massam, Shirley Russouw and Lyn Harris were runners-up and the second session prize went to Ethne Holding, Maureen Vorster and Mags Schmidt.
Property Port mixed trips winners were Mark Bischoff, Judy Hové and Nellis Hattingh, from Mike King, Trevor Main and Carol Oates, with Artur Lopes, Tammy Gibbons and Ian Gordon taking the second session.
Fruit and Veg sponsored 2-4-2 pairs was won by Richard Cochman and Jan Bouwer from Don and Shirley Russouw with Tommy Leek and Frik Janse van Rensburg taking the second session prize.
Next event will be the South Coast Herald mixed 2-4-2 today (29th).
THE BELL
MICHELLE Vermeulen and Paul Mundell won the Fruit & Veg sponsored mixed trips, from Hew Hodgson and Mada Lindeque. Session prize went to Jan and Helena Oosthuizen.
The Orca Restaurant sponsored mixed trips will be played this Friday (30th).

WIMPY pairs was won by Marie Coetzer and Mada Lindeque from Michelle Vermeulen and Ann-Marie Giblin. Second session went to Sharolyn Dacey and Tina Barbour.
The next competition will be the South Coast Herald men’s pairs on July 4 at 9am. The club AGM will be held in the hall on Wednesday, July 26 at 4pm (after tabs).
VILLAGE
THE draw for the horses for the Durban July will be held at the club this Friday evening (30th).
Soup and bread will be on sale. Members will watch the race on Saturday after bowls when snacks will be available.
The Food Lover’s Market drawn mixed trips will be this Saturday (1st) at 1.15pm.
The RAC draw and bring and braai will be next Friday (7th).
Hibiscus Retirement Villages men’s trips on July 4, followed by the Hibiscus Brokers mixed trips on July 13.
