THURSDAY’S Carreira/Curlewis Cup at Margate Country Club, sponsored Margate Pro Shop, was won on 43 points by Joe Espach.

Runner-up Brian Jolliffe had 41 points with Patrick Mavundla next on 37 points.

Nearest the pins were Patrick Mavundla (4th) and Edwin Steyn (16th).

Saturday’s betterball medal saw Greg Litkie and Piet Ludick benefit from the count-out.

Three pairs scored nett 58 but it was they who counted out Doug Johnston and Carlos Perriera, as well as James Tutt and Ivan Curlewis.

Nearest the pins were Doug Johnston (4th) and Johann Erasmus (11th).

Women’s comp was won on 43 points by Grace Fourie and Jean Page, counting out Margaret Taylor and Beryl Williamson.

Anita Scheepers and Hannetjie Pretorius won the betterball bonus bogey last Tuesday, carding +11.

The Wobblers’ comp the following day was won on 90 points by Peter Hunter, Otto Mutschler and Hans Dallinger.

Runners-up on 88 points were Gert Bezuidenhout, Richard Plaskitt and Bob Weanie, with Hans Beilhartz, Alan Davies and Dave Parsons next on 83 points.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Roy Nolan, Jim Finn and Freddie Boshoff on 71 points.
