Visiting juniors light things up at Tweni tennis

Members were thanked for their help.

WHAT a pleasure it was to be able to watch the up-and-coming tennis generation on the Umtentweni Tennis Club courts last weekend.

Unfortunately, Mr Weatherman intervened and there was no play on Friday and not till 11am on Saturday, but thereafter the matches went ahead.

It was really great to have the ‘Lollipop’ section at Tweni, too. Let’s hope these little people, the U10s, will grow to love the game and continue playing till they reach their 80s.

Grateful thanks go to committee members, Dan Dimitriu, Isabeau le Roux and Anne Payn for manning the tuck shop for the duration of the tournament, ably helped by several other club members.

Your commitment to keeping Tweni’s flag flying high is admirable. Thanks to all the members who provided eats for tea – an impressive array of delicious goodies.

Tennis will be back to normal on Saturday so come along and make up for lost time.

Saturday duty: March 24 – Chris Polinski; March 31 – Raj Naganna.
