Wet weather washes out open day at Southbroom
The course is looking great after the recent rain.
HEAVY rain put paid to last Friday’s open day, sponsored by South Coast Audi, at Southbroom Golf Club.
Next one is on Friday, April 20.
Last Wednesday’s women’s alliance was won on 92 points by Jeanette Peyios, Sandy Luus, Maeve Mullane and Jill Webster.
Runners-up on 86 points were Heather Anderson, Regina Bosshart, Anita Landolf and Margaret Stoellinger.
In third spot were Ursula Spoerri, Alexandra Huber, Lesley Godley and Heleen Hissey on 85 points.

The men’s alliance saw Roger Hissey, Rob Meydell, Gerald Fitzgerald and his son Craig win on 97 points.
Runners-up on 95 points were Malcolm Greenland, Uli Matzinger, Colin and Ross McKay, as well as Bob Thomas, Bob Clark, Derrik and Bruce Matthew.
The Gallery Café sponsored last Saturday’s betterball competition.
Winners were Val Volck and Hannah Hierhold on 45 points, followed by Sharon Turnbull-Jackson and Della Kempthorne on 42 points.
Counted out into third place were Candida Amm and Jean Corfe.
The men’s winners were Roger Phillips and Malcolm Moorley on 47 points, counting out Howard Kelly and Heiner Spoerri.
In third spot were Jurgen Feeder and Cleve Walker on 46 points.
