Juniors ignite fresh tennis interest in Ugu South Coast Tourism tourney
The games aim to expose the junior and adult tennis talent of the province.
ALL roads led to three tennis courts last weekend, Umtentweni, Uvongo and Douglas Mitchell, where the Ugu South Coast Tourism tennis tournament 2018, part of a developmental tennis journey which aims to expose the junior and adult tennis talent of the province to the people of the greater South Coast region, took place.

Included in the tournament was a tennis development clinic for local youth, which aimed to identify new talent and to ignite fresh interest in the sport.
Tennis is one of the most popular recreational sports in the nation and a great workout to boot, not forgetting the added benefits of potential career opportunities.
With this in mind, Ugu South Coast Tourism committed funds and resources as the naming sponsor of the inaugural Ugu South Coast Tourism tennis tournament.
Results were as follows:
Singles division winners, women – Mia Kotze (U12), Nonhlanhla Ngcobo (U16) and Tyla Carter (open).
Runners up – Keira Naidoo (U12), Ashtyn Cason (U16) and Courtney Fyvie (open).
Singles division winners, men – Mark van der Merwe (U10), Siyabonga Jaca (U12) and Oliver Naude (U14), Joshua Edgar (U16) and Kade Mindry (open).
Runners up – Benjamin Wilson (U10), Simphiwe Ngewenya (U12), Karan Varyani (U14), Calum Jestin (U16) and Louis van der Westhuizen (open).
Doubles division winners were Mark van der Merwe and Benjamin Wilson with runners up Daniel Naidoo and Keegan de Jager.
