Rocking start for Riversmead Warriors
The weather is cooling down which means it's time for loads of rugby to be played.
League rugby is underway for the Riversmead Warriors, who are now playing in the Fidelity Security First Division South league.
Their opening fixture against Westville Old Boys was postponed due to a request from Westville following a health crisis of their chairman and will be replayed in July.

The Warriors finally got onto the park, away to Ballito Dolphins. They won fairly convincingly, 24-3.
“It was a very scrappy game played on a wet pitch due to the heavy rain from the day before,” said Chris Mitchell.
“For our first game of the year it was a job well done, walking away with five points including the bonus point on the day.”
Tries were scored by Mangwe Marubelela, Luyanda Sithole and Devan van Eeden. Nico Smuts converted two of these.
Donovan Horne was named forward of the match and Mangwe backline player of the match.
Next up is a game away against Durban Mets tonight (29th) at 7pm.
The reserves also had a run last Saturday, but got a bit of a hiding, losing 53-12. They play Durban Mets reserves tonight.
The U20s meanwhile are playing in the Frank Norris U20 league and have played three games already.
It’s been a rough start with a 53-0 loss to Varsity College a few weeks ago, a 21-0 loss against College Rovers and a 43-12 loss against Durban Collegians.
Young rugby players are encouraged to join the South Coast Warriors Youth Rugby Club.
Training days at Douglas Mitchell Sports Club in Uvongo are Monday and Wednesday from 5.15pm to 6.15pm.
“We are looking for new players of all abilities to join our team. We encourage beginners between eight and 18 years old who want to work towards improving their skills and being part of the Warriors,” said PJ Botha.
The cost is R200 per month plus an annual registration fee of R150.
Parents are encouraged to let their sons come along and try.
“Rugby can develop your child’s communication and coordination skills while also teaching them the importance of working as a team. It’s a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere,” said PJ.
