From the bowling greens: Daphne and team win Imperial Select tourney at The Bell

THE BELL
The open fours competition sponsored by Imperial Select (Alberton) Multi-franchises was very well supported by bowlers from the Kingfisher district.
First prize went to Daphne Sapsford, Anne Swanepoel, Barbara Gradwell and Mada Lindeque.
In second place were Luke Pohl, Johannie Theron, Maureen Head and Kevin Mullen.
Third place went to Ken Tonge, Rob Miller, James Mitchell and Margaret Duffield.
Orca Restaurant sponsored mixed trips was won by Peter Clark, Tina Barbour and Gerda Clark.
Runners-up were Denise Nel, Dawie Schlebusch and Tickey Nel.
Club will be closed on Good Friday but normal bowls will be played on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
BANNERS REST
All first round club competition draws are on the noticeboard. These must be completed by April 30.
Next sponsored competitions are the GP Security mixed pairs on April 6, and the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs, moved from April 1 to April 8.
HIBBERDENE
Winners of the Suzuki South Coast mixed trips were Arthur and Miriam Seager, with Rentie Stevens.
Runners-up were Bez and Bubbles Bezuidenhout, with Jan Venter.
Session prize to Fay Patterson, Cheryl Knight and Louis Gerber.
MARGATE BC
Hans and Dina van der Walt won the 2-4-2 last week.
The Warwick Financial competition is today (29th) in the afternoon.
Social bowls is played every Sunday at 9am. Dress casual. Bowls and assistance provided.

St Patrick’s Day was a great success, thanks to the various sponsors.
Winners were Mike and Barbara Corbett with Phil Longden.

PORT EDWARD
Migamed and Golden Moon Spur Pro 10 mixed trips last week was won by Chris Green with Sergio and Pat Ruperto.
Runners-up were Jokkie and Marianne van Buuren with Ken Simm.
The Payn Family Memorial was won by Mike Gower, Leoni Booth, Jeannie West and Tommy Snyman.
Runners-up were Dave Banks, Gawie Bosman, Judith Simpson and Derek Wicks.
Robin Hood/Indulgence mixed pairs was won by Leoni Booth and Dice Graaff from Don Saunders and Steffie Harries.
An Olympic games fun day will be held next Monday (2nd) at 10.30am.
Non-bowlers welcome. Entrance fee R45 includes boerewors roll and Easter egg.
RIVERSIDE
Well done to Chrissie Chancellor and Brian Douthwaite, winners of the Food Lover’s Market 2-4-2.

The Southport Service Station trips was won by Tony Aveyard, Lyn Harris and Elize Hattingh.

The South Coast Herald men’s pairs was won by Luke Pohl and Ryan Keys from Tony Korb and Dumisani Madlala.
Schooner’s mixed trips was won by Keith Mills, Tammy Gibbons and Peter Anderson from Nellie Davies and Len Rossler.
The Harbour View SuperSpar mixed pairs was won by Astrid Jackson and Tony Aveyard from Dennis Graham and Nellie Davies.
Wimpy women’s pairs was won by Winnie Hess and Desiree Krause from Tammy Gibbons and Marie Pick.
Next Wimpy women’s pairs will be on Monday, April 16 and not Thursday, April 19 as the greens will be used for the KBA Midweek Fours.
