Swimmer needs help to go the distance … to PE
The young woman has held her own in some tough races.
WHILE the rest of the country was celebrating Human Rights Day recently, coach Gerhard Labuschagne was at Kings Park Swimming Pool with Margate Swimming Club’s talented Suné de Wit, who was competing in the South African Junior National competition which took place from March 21 to 25.

Suné held her own against some of the country’s top swimmers in the 100m breaststroke, 200m individual medley, 200m backstroke and 200m breaststroke.
In addition to her fantastic performance last week, Suné has qualified for South African Senior Championships in Port Elizabeth at the end of April, and has earned her full KwaZulu-Natal colours for swimming.
The club will be holding a raffle to raise funds to get her to Port Elizabeth. Prizes include a game-hunting holiday and coastal helicopter ride, plus more.
