Inside the ropes at Augusta with former Sheppie golfer now pro caddy Luke Swemmer
It's a dream come true for the former Sheppie boy.
MOST golfers can only dream of ever getting to watch the Masters at Augusta National, never mind actually play in this tournament.
Former Port Shepstone CC member Luke Swemmer will be somewhere in between when the quest for the Green Jacket begins on Thursday.
He’s on the bag for 2008 champion Trevor Immelman, so will be ‘inside the ropes’ for at least the first two days.

While Immelman’s form since that historic win has not been what he hoped and the golfing world imagined would come, as a past champion he gets invited back every year.
Perhaps Luke can help him find some of that sparkle, much of which was lost due to a wrist injury.
Immelman has played at least two local courses, at Southbroom when it hosted the South African U23 in 1995 or so.
And then at the Wild Coast Sun in his early days on the Sunshine Tour.
As for Luke, he was a pretty decent amateur in his day and probably would have played for KZN had he continued to play and not take up caddying as a profession.
He also used to caddy for Jaco van Zyl and formed a good partnership with him.
While Augusta may look flat on TV, players and caddies can guarantee you that it is most definitely not.
Fairways slope heavily and there aren’t many flat lies.
Whatever the case, Luke is bound to have a great time and add some good ol’ South Coast and South African humour to the hallowed grounds.
