BEN Malamba junior is starting to really enjoy his time on the cricket field.
He’s the son of Ben Malamba, who handles cricket in the Ugu region, so the sporting genes run in the family.

Ben junior, also known as Junior or BJ, is currently at Westville Boys’ High School where he is a boarder.
He’s in his second year there and is showing prowess as a left-handed batsman, one who looks like he may have watched Brian Lara a lot as a child.
The school is taking a team on a two week tour to the United Kingdom in July this year.
It will include a guided tour of London and a visit to Lord’s Cricket Ground.
BJ is in the team to go, but obviously funds need to be raised to make it possible. It will cost R37 000 per player.
BJ is also currently in a squad of 17 players identified as possible members of the KZN schools U15 team to play in a national festival later in the year.
This squad will be trimmed to 13 at some stage, and the tour to the UK, should BJ perform well, will enhance his chances of making it.
It would be a real feather in his cap for a young cricketer from the South Coast to gain some recognition at an early age.
