From the bowling greens: Kobie and Co win
News and results from South Coast bowling clubs.
MARGATE CC
The Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach and Warwick Challenge over three days as a mixed fours saw teams from all along the coast take part.
Winners were Kobie Stander, Dora Vosloo, Martiens Olivier and Winnie Hess, with reserve Norman Bridger.
Runners-up were Rod Phelps, Chris Green and Mary Phelps.
Third spot went to Jokkie and Mariane van Buuren, Leonie Botha and Ken Simm.
In fourth place were Brian Douthwaite, Gary Hess, Olwen Gibbs and Chrissie Chancellor.
Dailey session winners of the Allen Mobiles prizes were Peter Magg’s team, Mike Prinsloo’s team and Peet van Rooyen’s team.
Three lucky winners for a stay at the Wild Coast Sun were Deon Audie, and Hans and Dina van der Walt.

HIBBERDENE
One of the club’s longest standing (and honorary) members is Mike Hoyer, now aged 93.
With Fay Patterson, who is 87, he played in the competition held in his honour, the Mike Hoyer 2-4-2 on Good Friday.
They lost their first game 9-12 but won the second one 13-8.
Members are proud of these two very active bowlers and challenge any other club on the South Coast to better this age combination of 180 years – and counting.
Tiago’s mixed trips winners were Arthur Seager, Rentie Stevens and Christian Gumede from Ollie Coetzer, Pauline Howle and Glenda Verster.
Session prize to Fay Patterson, Martin Rautenbach and Charlie Peters.
Hibberdene Pharmacy mixed trips this Friday (13th) at 2pm.
BANNERS REST
The Port Edward Country Club mixed pairs was won by Joe Ashworth and Yvonne Fillis, from Brian Cole-Cook and Janet Venter.
Second session went to Pam-Cole Cook and Roger Humphry, and the 50/50 board to Gino Alilovic.
Winners of the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs were Frank Foley and Dan Delaney. Placed second were Dave Banks and Aubrey Hood.
Golden Moon Spur mixed trips next Wednesday (18th).
MARGATE BC
Winners of the Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach men’s 2-4-2 were Ron Vink and Rennie Geyer.
Runners-up were Alan Gibson and Trevor Hayward. Session to David Hume and John Keppler.

Harbour View SuperSpar sponsored competition was won by Rynier van Tonder, Nico van Niekerk, Maureen Vorster and Steve O’Moore.

South Coast Herald men’s pairs was won by Luke Pohl and Ryan Keys from runners-up Alex Bukes and Bruce Hoyer.
The session prize went to Bill Brooks and Denis Schmidt.
Date of the Wimpy women’s pairs has changed to Monday, April 16 at 9am.
VILLAGE
Food Lover’s Market selected trips winners were Ali Mitchell, Dawn Ingle and Winston Van Greune.
Runners-up were Harry Nicolson, Nelia Reed and Lucas Landman, followed by Hugh Holland, Trevor Smith and Marie Momple.
