Black belt for local karateka Jehryn
He was one of the youngest black belt recipients at the gala function.
Local karateka Jehryn Moonsamy (16) of the Port Shepstone Shotokan Karate Club was among the many national recipients honoured at a gala dinner and awards function, hosted by the Shotokan Karate-Do International South Africa (SKISA) at Sastri College Hall in Durban recently.

Jehryn, a grade 10 pupil at Creston College, who attained his black belt in karate, was presented with the official black belt certificate endorsed by Shotokan Karate-Do International guest of honour, Japanese grandmaster, world renowned karate expert and multiple world champion, Manabu Murukami.
Jehryn, who was trained by local Shihan Frank Moodley (fifth Dan black belt) as well as Hanshi Sonny Pillay (President of Karate SA and SKISA), was one of the youngest black belt recipients at the SKISA’s 40th year celebratory gala function.
