‘Smash, drive and volley’

Great thought went into the set-arranging, too. Members should all take a leaf out of Mary's book when it comes to doing duty.

A LOVELY turnout had members and visitors smashing, driving, volleying and slicing shots on five courts at Umentweni Tennis Club last Saturday and with no sun in one’s eyes, it was perfect weather for tennis.

Anne-Marie Wege is back on the coast for a while and, along with Kathy Kirston, James Shaw and Rod Hackland made for some great sets and giving members different shots to contend with.

True to form, Mary Wood brought along her delicious granadilla cheesecake, tasty sarmies and refreshing orange segments to keep members eating healthy food.

Great thought went into the set-arranging, too. Members should all take a leaf out of Mary’s book when it comes to doing duty.

Morgan Reddy celebrated his birthday on the 19th and Deena Naidoo celebrates on the 27th. Members wish them a great year of enjoyable tennis ahead.

Saturday duty: September 29 – Foxy Norton; October 6 – Helgaard du Preez.
