Track Torque: From Russia with love

The race starts on Sunday at 1pm and qualifying should be at about the same time.

This news comes to you from Rod reporting in Tel Aviv in Israel. This weekend we move across the Asian continent to the Sochi Autodrom at Krasnodar Krai in Russia for 53 laps of the 5.8km track this Sunday (30th).

Last year the race was won by Valtteri Bottas in the Mercedes but both pole position and the fastest lap belonged to Ferrari via Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.

This weekend it is vital for Ferrari to turn up the heat and both drivers to compete at the highest level if they are to stay in the championship contest.

The Italians are really putting pressure on Vettel to perform, which can be a good or bad thing.

I do hope that Ferrari do come to the party this weekend with a really good performance as it will keep our interests until the end of the year at top levels.

Sochi is a medium speed track and Ferrari have a new pack specifically designed for it.

Who knows what Mercedes with Lewis Hamilton and Bottas will have in their camp, this time around.

Whatever it is they are going to be tough to beat as Lewis Hamilton in particular is on a roll and is very dangerous and hard to beat in this situation. We really are in for another tough contest of the gladiators.

The race starts on Sunday at 1pm and qualifying should be at about the same time.
