Karate champ Davide Benetello shows how it’s done
Karate students were put through their paces.
The Ugu Karate region, affiliated to Karate KwaZulu-Natal and Karate South Africa (KSA) welcomed World Champion, Davide Benetello to Port Shepstone recently.

At a training seminar conducted by the champion, karate students from white to green belts trained for an hour, during which they were taught basic kumite skills and fighting methods.
Blue to black belt students trained for an hour and a half and were put through their paces with fitness, speed, kumite techniques and one of the most important aspects of martial arts – respect.
Benetello said the students showed promise and that there was a high level of talent developing within the Ugu region.
Shihan Frank Moodley said the seminar was outstanding and it was a pleasure hosting the best in the world.
Hanshi Sonny Pillay, KSA president, is thanked for enabling Benetello to travel to South Africa and conduct training seminars throughout the country.
Benetello plans to return to South Africa next year.
