Nomads support Cornerstone Learning Centre
The golf day was well supported by 132 players, with spontaneous support from fellow Nomads and friends.
SOUTHERN Natal Nomads held its annual Andrew Mentis fundraising golf day at Southbroom Golf Club recently.
Andrew Mentis, a founder member of Nomads, who died this year at the age of 97, established the fund in 1967.

He tasked vice-captains of Nomads to every year nominate a beneficiary and raise funds to support that cause.
It’s raised in excess of R40-million around the country since 1967.
This year, Cornerstone Learning Centre, a school for austistic children in Port Shepstone was chosen as the beneficiary by Tony Westoby, the current vice-captain of Southern Natal Nomads.
The golf day was well supported by 132 players, with spontaneous support from fellow Nomads and friends.
Winners on 101 points were Brian Jolliffe, Johan Wentzel, Anton Kohrmann and Riaan Croukamp.
One point behind were Grant Grotjohn, Greg Hobbs, Tyrone Venter and Phil Badenhorst.
In third spot on 99 points were Ulric Gous, Shane Davis, Mark Lamb and Rob Piers.
Prizes paid out all the way to 14th.
Tony and his team comprising Bob Thomas, Derek James and Terry Doré, placed 13th on the day.
