Golfers raise funds for child welfare

Forty-nine golfers took to the course for a splendid game.

CHILD Welfare SA Port Shepstone’s golf day at Margate Country Club last Saturday was won on 47 points by Brian Jolliffe and Anton Kohrmann.

It was sponsored by The Bed Shop.

There was a four-way tie for second on 45 points, with the countout being used to decide on positions for prizes.

The pairs were Dolf Willemse and Graeme Massam, John Ford and ghost, Riaan Croucamp and Johan Wentzel, as well as Carlos Periera and Ernie Janse.

Best women on the day were Lexley Lewis and Lesley Erasmus on 43 points.

Nearest the pins were Anton Kohrmann (4th), Carlos Periera (8th), Alan Davies (11th) and Pierre Malherbe (16th).

The raffle was very well supported at the event and Sandi Johnson, with lucky number 17 on sheet nine, took home the goodies hamper, which included a mini cricket bat signed by all the 2018 KZN Dolphins.

Wobblers alliance was won on 83 points by Freddie Boshoff, Dolf Willemse and Ernie Janse.

Runners-up on 82 points were Nico van Vuuren, John Gibson and Rob McGill.

Third place went to Alan Davies, Derek Egerton and Louis Gouws on 79 points.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Rob Brien, Eddie Gommersall and Otto Mutschler on 69 points.

Last Thursday’s competitin was won by Eddie Davies on 39 points, by one from Gary Smith.

Nearest the pins were Gary Smith (2nd) and John Webster (11th).

The club is co-hosting the annual KwaZulu-Natal Interclub this weekend.
