Herald Fishing: Bait up for the big edibles
Fishing this weekend should be excellent, so get out the tackle and target those big inedibles.
The weather and the sea have not been friendly over the last week. The surge saw many anglers pack up without wetting a line.
Only the determined (foolhardy, some might say) have managed some decent fishing.

With the sea now behaving a bit better, the time has come for targeting summer species on the boat and from the side.
Fishing this weekend should be excellent, so get out the tackle and target those big inedibles.
Anglers spinning have still managed to hook in to a late season garrick or two and the odd snoek.
Reports are in of bronze bream still being on the bite.
Rock cod, mainly catface, have also made their presence felt snacking on delicate prawn bait, with anglers reporting great fights on their light bream rods.
Fishing a double-hook trace is always a good choice in these situations but it does increase the chances of getting stuck, so weigh up your options.
When targeting rock cod and bream, add a larger bait to your bottom hook (fleshy or chokka based) and your usual prawn bait to the top hook.
Kob are still on the bite and now is the perfect time to throw a rapala, paddle tail or even chokka baits.
Bass fishing has been particularly good this season with many people beating their previous personal bests.
