President produces yet another Classic
As usual, there was a very festive vibe at the club, with evening entertainment out of the top drawer.
Visiting golfers made away with the lion’s share of the prizes at the Beekman Classic played at Port Shepstone Country Club last weekend.
It was played over two seperate days, with an alliance on the Friday and a betterball on the Saturday.

Club president and main sponsor John Beekman handed over the prizes on Saturday night.
The alliance was won by four friends from four different clubs, namely Mawenthu Mankwerte (Selborne Park), Cyril Tshangase (Saps Durban GC, Windsor Park), Loyiso Manyana (Darkies GC) and Aloyse Shayo (Kokstad GC) on 105 points.
Runners-up were closer to home, a combination of Margate and Sheppie members in Johan Neethling, Zuandru Coetzee, Piet Fourie and Jaco van der Wal, on 98 points.
Third place went to Shaun Nathanson, Donovan Scowby, Craig Kegal and Darren Ross on 96 points.
The following day was a betterball, with Vusi Maphumulo and Emmanuel Mseleku winning the day on 46 points, on a countout from Sheppie locals Howard Crouch and Ken Morris.
Emmanuel is based locally, in fact he works for Beekman Group, but is handicapped at St Cathryns Golf Club. Vusi is a member at Margate CC.
In third place on 45 points were Tim and Marina McGregor, from Selborne Park.
The previous Wednesday’s competition was won on +12 by Stewart Betts and Jacky van Heerden.
Runners-up were Jenny Hulley and Paul Geoffery on +9.
