Fans will be rooting for the two athletes who inspired with their stories of humble beginnings to podium finishes in a tough industry this year.
Powasol Nite-X 2 was round six of the Southern Africa Endurox Series and took place last weekend in Johannesburg.
Nite-X has become a popular urban showcase event over the past three years with enduro riders taking on an extreme enduro track at night.
As the year comes to a close, the ultimate test for both riders will be the Motul Roof of Africa from December 5 to 8, where they will compete with international riders in the silver class.
(A host of other South Coast riders will also be in action, including two time past winner Wade Young).
The Motul Roof of Africa, held in the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, is considered one of the toughest off-road endurance events in the world.
This is the second time the Herbalife Nutrition bLU cRU Yamaha Racing Team will be competing in Roof of Africa.
Reflecting on a successful year of racing, the riders attribute their achievements to sponsorship involvement and the building of their physical and mental stamina through many hours of training in the saddle.
“Being a professional rider has been a lifelong dream that finally became a reality for me last year and it would not have been possible without sponsors like Herbalife Nutrition as well as my mentors and training partners who believe in me,” said Piwe.
Thabang adds to that by emphasising the importance of mental fitness and solid nutritional support and thanks those who helped him stay motivated during the year.
“We are extremely proud of Thabang and Piwe and their accomplishments this year. We wish them all of the best with the two remaining races,” says Thilo Naidoo, Herbalife Nutrition Country Director, Southern Africa.
