Two aces in one week at Margate CC

It's been another interesting week at the club.

IT was another eventful week at Margate Country Club.

Jane Davies’ golfing week got off to a flying start when she hit her tee shot directly into the hole at the 2nd during the women’s competition last Tuesday, which was ‘Sandi’s Surprise’ alliance.

This was Jane’s first hole-in-one and knowing her, not the last.

She and her partners, Lexley Lewis and Evelyn Burls, ended in second place for the day on 101 points.

Winning the competition on 117 points were Wandra Bothma, Beryl Williamson and Maureen Pitcher on 117 points.

Five five days later, Ivan Curlewis also had a hole-in-one during a league match and also at the 2nd hole.

Incredibly, this was Ivan’s first hole-in-one at Margate Country Club, after playing the course for 54 years, but his seventh in total.
