Chiappini Boshoff finds top form

MARGATE Country Club’s oldest member, Chiappini Boshoff, had a great golfing week, which started on Tuesday when she and fellow team members, Margaret Pitcher and Wondra Bothma, won the ladies fan draw on 82 points.

Chiappini then went on to claim closest to the pin at the difficult 11th hole, during the ladies Saturday competition (Sandi’s Surprise Alliance Waltz) and together with partners Evelyn Burls and Jean Page they ended in second place with 79 points.

Winning the day, also on 79 points and on a count out, were Maureen Ogilvie, Wondra Bothma and Sandi Johnston (as ghost).

To the disappointment of Ronnie Mtshaka, nearest to the pin on the 2nd hole went to Jane Davies.

The 100 Club was won by Robin Shuttleworth with 32 points, while second place was shared between Mike Jones, Flip Fourie and Gary Smith on 31 points.

Winning the Wobblers alliance with 85 points were Peter Hunter, Wimpie Jordaan and Freddie Boshoff.

Second place went to Eddie Gommersall, Dave Boyd and Frank Merrill on 82 points, while Alan Davies, André Henn and Rob Brien took third place with 80 points.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Hanz Beilhartz, Otto Mutschler and Carl Zurfluh on 74 points.

Ron Scowby won the Pro Shop Day with 41 points.

Mike Lee took second place on 39 points.

Closest to the pins on the 2nd and 11th holes went to Graeme Massam and Mike Lee respectively.

Graeme went on to win the Saturday club competition with partner Dolf Willemse, on 47 points.

Losing on a countout were Flip Fourie and Johan Stoltz.

Third place went to Ronnie Mtshaka and Gary Smith on 44 points.

Frik van Zyl claimed nearest the pin for two on the 7th hole, while newest member Craig Rademan seems to be finding his way around the course, taking closest to the pin on the 11th.
