Golfers bring hope and comfort for SPCA

Various donors, some anonymous, contributed to the total amount raised.

The annual Comfort Cool/Fourways alliance golf day, held at Port Shepstone Country Club as a fundraiser for SPCA last Friday, was a resounding success, with R35 000 raised.

It was won by Piet Fourie, Jaco van der Wal, Johan Neethling and Heber de Beer on 94 points.

They counted out Jay Ramkissoon, Seelan Govender, Harry Naidoo and Sathia Moonsamy.

In third place on 92 points were Sbu Ntozakhe, Koko Zithumane, Abe Sidumo and Ndumi Ncemane.

Lower South Coast SPCA chairman Scott Kvalsvig thanked the golfers and sponsors for their contributions.

“A huge thank you to Stephen Herbst of Comfort Cool air-conditioners, for helping raise R35 000 and the Beekman Group for contributing R10 000,” he said.

The previous Wednesday’s competition was won by Charles Hulley on 43 points, by two from Stewart Betts, with Paul Bunge third on 40 points.

Last Saturday’s competition was won on +9 by Jon Dreyer and Jacky van Heerden, by one from Gerhard Labuschagne and Ian Stewart.

In third place were Paul Geoffery and Richard Harrison on +5.

There are three big events coming up, the Dolphins Cricket golf day this Friday (6th), Creston College golf day this Saturday (7th) and Paul Naidoo Memorial golf day this Sunday (8th).
